The striking resort is the perfect Midwestern getaway and is located approximately 100 miles from Chicago, 115 miles from Indianapolis and 35 miles from South Bend. This summer, Swan Lake has a full slate of overnight offerings for those looking to Stay and Play in this beautiful Northern Indiana setting. Whether you want to experience a complete golf weekend at either the Indiana National Golf Club or US Golf Academy, there are a variety of packages to accommodate every budget and schedule. Three different Stay & Play packages are available for the 18-hole championship courses: Mulligan’s Platinum Package, Mulligan’s Golf Package and Mulligan’s Silver Package. Both the Platinum and Gold Packages include a two-night stay in a deluxe room, cottage, log cabin or villa and three rounds of golf at Indiana National. Golfers will also have full access to the driving range. Platinum guests will also be treated to daily breakfast and dinner at Sam Snead’s Tavern, the only one of its kind in the Midwest.
Sam Snead’s is the perfect place to visit after a round or at the turn. The restaurant is open all day from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the weekends. The menu features oak-grilled specialties, seafood and signature steaks made with certified Angus beef, making for a savory and satisfying meal. The unique dining area is fi lled with memorabilia from throughout Snead’s historic career. He still holds the record for PGA Tour victories with 82. Weekday golf packages are also available from Thursday through Sunday at attractive rates. Currently, Swan Lake is running a special weekday package from now until the end of August that gets you on the golf course and into a room at the resort for a fraction of the cost. For just $99 you’ll receive a deluxe room for one night and one round of golf at Indiana National. These packages are a fantastic way to experience Indiana National, the cornerstone of Indiana’s most complete golf resort. There are two courses to choose from at Swan Lake. The East Course is the championship course and has hosted a number of prestigious events in the past two years; the state’s senior open championship and the NAIA men’s collegiate national championship. The well-manicured course demands precision shots as water comes into play on 14 of 18 holes. The West Course offers the same great conditions but is a bit more forgiving. The resort course has wider fairways and larger greens. It’s a challenge for all levels and offers great views of the resort. Accommodations at Swan Lake Resort consist of 92 hotel rooms, six country cottages and four log cabins, all newly renovated. Swan Lake’s deluxe hotel rooms can have golf course and pool views and come with all the amenities one would expect from a first class establishment. All rooms come equipped with wireless internet access. Cottages and log cabins are also available and would be ideal for families, golf groups and social groups. The cottages sleep four to six people and come equipped with multiple sleeping areas and a game table. The cottages are just steps from the resort and a circular campfire ring.
There are four log cabins available on the grounds, nestled in a more secluded, wilderness setting. The two-story cabins feature four sleeping areas, four bathrooms, four flat-screen television sets, a wet bar, an X-Box gaming system, wireless internet, a horseshoe pit and a campfire ring. If you’re interested in learning rather than leisure, the United States Golf Academy also offers overnight packages designed to improve your game. The USGA has developed a new threeyear program to help all golfers achieve their goals. The program will provide students with talented and knowledgeable instructors all year between annual sessions. The PGA Professionals at Swan Lake are making a solid commitment for those wanting some consistency and a solid path for continued improvement. All three-year programs include a continuous updateable CD, use of TrackMan and constant contact with your instructor after the session. Included in the annual portion of the three-year program are hours of instruction, comprehensive swing analysis, overnight stay, unlimited play at Indiana National, breakfast, dinner and a player gift. Overnight accommodation is also part of two new programs offered by the Academy that address the scoring shots in golf. The Putt Doctor has the “Housecall” Package that is primarily focused on putting and the “Major Short Game Surgery” that deals with all aspects around the green such as wedge play, bunker shots and putting. Both programs are now available.
Golf isn’t the only thing to do at Swan Lake and the resort is offering a package that would be perfect for couples. The Soothing Spa Package for Two includes stay in a deluxe room, dinner for two at Sam Snead’s Tavern and a spa treatment for two at The Spa at Swan Lake. Swan Lake also offers the area’s most beautiful spaces for meetings, banquets and social events. The resort’s state-of-the-art Convention Center boasts more than 20,000 square feet of versatile function space including the magnificent Grand Ballroom featuring a full range of built-in audio visual and digital equipment. Swan Lake is perfect for weddings and special occasions as well. Tucked away in rural Indiana, the resort delivers a fabulous site with all the services and space to make your occasion the most wonderful celebration. Golf may be the centerpiece of Swan Lake Resort but it isn’t the only game in town.
