Trappers Turn Golf Club is a challenging, yet very playable golf course located in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. This region of Wisconsin is very beautiful, and we really enjoyed the scenery during our round. We were also fortunate to play this wonderful course in Mid-October, just before the winters freeze. Trappers Turn has 27 holes with varying levels of topography. There are three nine hole sections, the Lake, Canyon and Arbor. Course designers Andy North (two-time U.S. Open Champion) and Roger Packard, combined to masterfully design the course within the scenic landscape of the area. The canyon was formed many years ago from the melting glaziers cutting through the native sandstone. The result today is some of the most panoramic golf holes in the region. Along the top of the canyon are rolling fairways with huge moguls, giving the golfer a feel of a links style course (and the related challenges). Several other holes along the ridge have fairways that weave through dense hardwood forests of oak and birch trees. It has been said that variety is the spice of life, and at Trappers Turn, you can experience many different styles of golf holes during an enjoyable round of golf. It is definitely worth the trip to Dells in order to play this challenging and scenic course. The staff is very friendly and they know how to make you feel welcome. We can understand why a recent Zagat survey called Trappers Turn one of “2003 Americas Top Golf Courses”.
