Measuring 7015 yard to 5251 yards from the four sets of tees, Makray Memorial gives golfers of various skill levels a challenge. Even though the course has only been open a little over a month, you better play as many rounds as you can because as this course matures it will be harder and harder to find a tee time. Strategically placed bunkers and multiple water hazards make Makray Memorial a tough one! The signature hole at Makray Memorial would have to be the par 3 #4. It plays downhill to a narrow lengthy green. A pond parallels the green to the right and oak trees frame the left. This hole can be tricky and requires a very accurate tee shot. Make sure you observe the pin placement, because the undulation of the green can make putts very difficult. Another one of our favorite holes would have to of been the finishing par 5 #18. What a great hole to finish up at round on! Stretching 555 yards from the black tees, #18 gives you a challenge from your first shot to your final putt. Make sure to use careful club selection and do not over shoot your approach, or you will be dealing with a down hill lie or a sand bunker.Makray Memorial Golf Club offers lots of water, strategic bunkers, bent grass tees, fairways and greens, blue grass roughs and spectacular views. The Practice facility features a green for chipping, sand bunker play, a large putting green and a practice range that has 5 bent grass target areas. This winter Makray Memorial plans to open a 24,000 square foot clubhouse that can accommodate outings, weddings and any other social event. If you are in need of a lesson, outing, new golf equipment or just want to enjoy a round of golf, make sure you head on over to Barrington and Makray Memorial Golf Club. |
