Hughes Creek Golf ClubLess than 10 miles from Rich Harvest Farms, site of this summer's Solheim Cup competition, Elburn's Hughes Creek Golf Club is one of the Chicagoland's most complete golf destinations featuring a classic golf course, great food and tremendous views, on and off the course.

Designed by the late Gordon Cunningham in 1992, Hughes Creek is an 18-hole championship layout built on 170 acres of beautiful rolling farmland with plenty of water, wetlands, wildflowers and wildlife.

Golfers traveling from nearby Chicago or anywhere in Illinois for that matter, will appreciate the scenery and undisturbed surroundings of Hughes Creek.

Visitors to Hughes Creek will quickly realize that there isn't a more scenic spot in Kane County. The course is loaded with panoramic vistas of the countryside from a number of different hilltops throughout the golf course. Most importantly, the well-manicured golf course offers great value and challenge.

Hughes Creek measures slightly more than 6,500 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 71.4 and it has a slope rating of 118. The white tees play to 6,200 yards, while the ladies play a 5,550 yard course.

The Bent grass greens are large, subtle, fast, smooth and true. The par-5 18th is a rugged uphill test that climbs toward the clubhouse, providing an appropriate test to conclude a round. The ninth is an equally challenging par 4 that climbs from the valley floor to the clubhouse, which is perched on one of the highest points in the area.

A variety of par 3s will have players reaching for a different club every time.

The quality of the golf course is met, if not exceeded by the service offered at Hughes Creek.

Guests of Hughes Creek can enjoy some of the finest lunches and dinners around from a grand view patio that overlooks the course. In addition to the hot dogs, that were voted the very best in the area by Chicagoland Golf's readers, Hughes Creek is home to a Friday Fish Fry that has been growing in popularity each golf season.
