The Trophy Club

The Trophy Club has handed out its fair share of hardware in the past. Now it's time for the majestic Lebanon, In. offering to be on the receivingtrophy.jpg end of a deserving award.Since opening in the fall of 1998, the Trophy Club has handed out some of the most prestigious championships contested in the state of Indiana, hosting the Indianapolis Open, Indiana State Senior Open, Challenge Cup, Indiana State Open and Indiana Senior PGA Championship.

In 2007 the club itself was recognized when Golf Digest named it the Best Public Course in Indiana.

Designed by Tim Liddy, who was an understudy of the legendary Pete Dye and is a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, the par-72, 7,245 yard course features big bentgrass fairways, sculpted bunkers, undulating greens, tall fescue grasses, Prairie Creek and small lakes.

The vistas that these features create, as well as the fun and challenging golf shots they present, were enough to merit Golf Digest's ranking as one of "America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses" in 2004.

A difficult finishing stretch will provide the ultimate test of your game as your round draws to a close.

The 519-yard, par-5 16th is a wide-open, dogleg to the left that gives players an opportunity to swing for the fences in order to reach the green in two. Following the lengthy par-5 is the 220-yard, par-3 17th that is completely surrounded by mounds and bunkers. It will be a difficult carry for most and requires power and accuracy to stay out of the trouble. The finishing hole is a classic par-4 that demands inspired iron play in order to finish the round with a birdie.

The Trophy Club was formed on 247 acres of natural beauty with Prairie Creek meandering through the rolling terrain to create a breathtaking, relaxing environment for a day of enjoyment just 30 minutes from downtown Indianapolis.

The award-winning layout is also convenient to the greater Chicago area, just over a two-hour drive to the south from the Windy City.

The grounds at the Trophy Club also feature a sprawling clubhouse, a full-service pro shop, the Hogan Bar and Grill and a one-hundred-seat pavilion room perfect to house your next group outing.

In addition to the championship course and unique clubhouse, golfers can enjoy practice facilities that are ideal for developing and improving any aspect of your game, whether you're a child, veteran player or beginner.

Individual adult and junior lessons, complete with state-of-the-art computer swing analysis, are available from the Trophy Club's Director of Golf, B.G. Winings.

The Trophy Club's 18 championship holes feature a links style layout, with large greens built to USGA specifications, four sets of tees and 60-yard wide bent grass fairways. Taller growing blue grass and fescue frame and define each hole. The course awaits every curious golfer.
