Print E-mail

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica - The Pro-Am team representing Chicago's famous Medinah Country Club won the Third Annual Jamaica Invitational presented by Nike Golf. In a close second, was the team from Dupont Country Club, in Wilmington, Delaware. Dan Wilkins, Director of Golf at Laconia CC in NH, posted the low total score in the professional division. The 54-hole championship featured Pro-Am teams from the United States and Europe and was conducted on two of Jamaica's finest golf courses, Cinnamon Hill and The White Witch.

Nike Golf, the presenting sponsor of the event, provided product demos and prizes for all the winners, including full sets of their new Victory Red irons, iC Putters, and Dymo Drivers. Participants were offered a unique opportunity to sample the new Dymo Driver prior to its consumer release in February of 2009.

Greg Moore, Nike, Central Regional Sales Manager said, "My experience at Nike Golf has taken me to some of the best golf destinations in the world, but what really sets the Jamaica Pro-Am apart is the attention to detail of the tournament staff and the incredible level of hospitality and the natural friendliness of the people of the Island. This is the first year of Nike Golf's sponsorship and from what I have heard from our guests, this has been a unique and enjoyable experience. All of us are definitely looking forward to returning to Jamaica next year."

In addition to team champions, individual's winning sponsored contest holes were awarded roundtrip tickets on Air Jamaica, and complimentary 3 nights stays to the host resort hotel, Rose Hall Resort & Spa, a Hilton Resort. This deluxe beachfront hotel, once a legendary 18th-century sugar plantation, evokes the historic charm and hospitality made famous by the island.

The Jamaica Invitational Pro-Am is managed by The Golf Connection and proudly supported by the Jamaica Tourist Board. For more information on The Jamaica Invitational Pro-Am presented by Nike Golf, please call 484-762-1185.
