Bolingbrook Golf ClubThe second annual Golf World Readers’ Choice Awards have been announced, which recognized the 50 best private, public and resort golf facilities in the country. Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook, Ill., was ranked as No. 28 among public facilities, and was the only Illinois golf course to be named to the public facility list. The rankings are based solely on the input of Golf World readers in an online ballot format.

Golf World
readers were asked to evaluate the nation’s golf facilities in three distinct categories — private, public and resort — based on 13 different performance criteria, including quality of the course, course conditions, reputation/prestige and service. More than 46,000 individual facility ratings were received.

Among the 13 performance criteria, Bolingbrook Golf Club ranked No. 2 in Clubhouse and Locker Room, No. 3 in Food and Dining, No. 4 in Golf Shop, No. 6 in Off-Course Amenities and No. 6 in Practice Facility among golf courses throughout the U.S.

“We are thrilled that the readers at Golf World have recognized Bolingbrook Golf Club as being among the best public courses in the nation,” said Terry Hanley, Bolingbrook Golf Club General Manager. “This honor is a true testament to the loyal customers we have in the region and are truly proud.”

To determine the overall rankings, the ratings that were received by each facility in each of the 13 performance categories were totaled and then balanced to fit on a 100 point scale. The awards are listed in the Sept. 28 issue of the magazine. The full list, including special online-only sections, can be viewed at www.golfworld.com.
